Aftercare

It is possible to experience redness and swelling up to 48 hours after the procedure. Immediately after, the procedure site will appear darker and bold due to the oxidation of the tattoo pigment. After four to seven days, If the procedure site is kept clean and dry, a light pigment film will develop (there should not be thick scabbing). As the procedure site begins to heal it will become dry, itchy, and flaky. DO NOT pick, scratch, itch, or pull off any of the areas that are peeling. As the area continues to heal, a softer and more natural result will be revealed. Please note that within the first four weeks, the deposited pigment may appear very faint due to regeneration of skin cells. The full healing time of 8 weeks must be allowed before seeing the true color and result of your tattoo.

Failure to follow aftercare instructions may result in poor retention of pigment, and may alter the healed results of your tattoo. Healed results may vary.

  • No products that contain AHA’s (glycolic, lactic acids, etc.) on the procedure site as they will fade the pigment.

  • MRI can alter the appearance of the tattoo pigment. If you are planning to have an MRI please notify your technician that you have had a cosmetic tattoo.

  • Touch-ups will be scheduled 8 weeks after the initial procedure.

FAQ

  • What is microblading?

Microblading (also called feather brows, 3D brows, etc.) is the process of implanting pigment beneath the surface of the skin with a sterile disposable needle to produce the appearance of hairlike strokes in the eyebrow.

  • How long does microblading last?

Microblading is a semi-permanent service, meaning it will fade over time and may need to be refreshed every 1-2 years. Frequency of sessions depends on a number of factors including the pigment color used, lifestyle, skincare routine, etc. Please note that final results cannot be guaranteed as each skin type will retain pigments differently and break down at different rates.

  • Does microblading hurt?

A highly-effective, topical anesthetic cream and gel are used for numbing before and during your procedure. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the entirety of the procedure. Please note, having this service performed just before, or during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort.

  • Can I get microblading if I am pregnant or nursing?

No. We do not offer ANY cosmetic tattooing services to women who are pregnant or nursing.

  • What factors will affect my microblading?

    • sun exposure

    • regeneration of skin cells

    • speed at which skin absorbs pigment

    • choice of color (lighter colors fade faster)

    • bleeding during the procedure

    • aftercare

    • iron deficiency

  • How will my microblading look in the future?

During your appointment, we will analyze your skin's undertones to anticipate how pigments will fade in the future. We will also mix pigments to ensure color blends well with your existing eyebrow hair color. Generally, cosmetic tattoos stay true to color and lighten naturally over time. There are some cases, where colors may fade to different tones according to the individual’s response to the pigments (like lifestyle and iron deficiencies). Many factors affect these changes. At your touch-up appointment, we will re-analyze how your body has responded to the initial color, and alterations can be made at that time. Your eyebrow tattoo will eventually look softer. This happens with all clients as the skin ages. To keep your hair strokes looking fresh, a refresher appointment is suggested every 1 to 2 years. Results may vary with each individual.
